This wing is supposed to unbolt, but someone had welded it all up in the past! Unfortunately they hadn’t fixed the rust inside…

…so we cut

…and then we started refabricating the bits that had crumbled away to nothing

A-post and scuttle nice and strong now

Here’s a detail of the bottom of the bulkhead and jacking point

Wing section butt-welded flush back in place. It goes against the grain to weld a bolt-on panel back on, but the previous welds weren’t possible to undo

Paint stage. We used 2-pack rather than water-based base and clear, because this harmonised better with the weathered paint on the rest of the van
