This Integrale’s rear wing and boot floor only had a few holes…
Reinforcer and boot floor now finished
We also had pretty bad rust in the lower rear wing and bumper attachment, so there was no choice but to make those...
We also had to make the outer edge of the rear wheel arch
Red oxide primer prior to welding it all up
Parts made now – just need butt welding together…

…until we started cutting out the rust.
Then we found that there wasn’t much left, so we had to keep cutting
We also cut out quite a big chunk of the outer boot floor
Here we are beginning to reconstruct the reinforcer under the outer boot floor
New outer boot floor butt-welded securely into place
Beautifully-made rear wing in metal
All primed up!

If your roof has small blisters like this you are in trouble. They are the tip of the iceberg…
… but hardly any inside protection from the factory. It is heavily affected by condensation, especially if the car is kept outside
Cleaned up and with the bottom section near the hatch going in place
We prime inside before we weld up the holes. Obviously it is not possible to stop the welder burning the paint off, but we apply cavity wax afterwards to prevent rust
The area is all cleaned up and derusted, because there’s not a lot of point in doing it and letting the rust come back
